Setting Up Shopify Payments

Step 1: Access Your Shopify Dashboard
Start by logging into your Shopify dashboard. Once you’re in, navigate to the bottom left corner of the screen and click on the Settings button.

Next, select the Payments icon to access your payment setup options. This page will show you the various methods through which you can accept payments from your customers.
Step 3: Choose a Payment Provider
At the top of the payments page, you’ll find the option for Shopify Payments. Click on the Choose a Provider button. This will direct you to a page where you can search for your desired payment provider. Simply enter the name of the provider, select it from the results, and click on their page.
Step 4: Enter Your Information
On the provider’s page, you’ll need to fill in your address and any required information. After entering your details, click on Submit to successfully connect that specific payment provider to your Shopify store.
Step 5: Add More Payment Methods
If you wish to add more payment options, click on the Add Payment Method button. Here, you can search for additional providers and integrate them easily.
Step 6: Activate PayPal
For those who want to include PayPal as a payment option, click on the Activate PayPal button. This will redirect you to your PayPal page. Clicking the activate button there will instantly link your Shopify store with PayPal.
Default Payment Options
By default, Shopify Payments allows you to accept major credit cards like Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Additionally, you can add payment options such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay, expanding your customers’ payment choices.
Step 7: Set Payout Details
Next, navigate to the Payout Details section. Here, you can choose how frequently Shopify sends money to your bank account, with options for daily, weekly, or monthly payouts. Daily payouts are popular, while weekly payouts offer more predictability. You’ll also see estimated payout dates displayed on your dashboard.
Step 8: Add Manual Payment Methods
If desired, you can click on Add Manual Payment Method and select options such as bank deposit, money order, or cash on delivery. This flexibility can cater to various customer preferences.
Step 9: Choose Payment Capture Methods
Finally, you can select your payment capture method. Decide whether you want payments to be captured automatically at checkout, automatically when the entire order is fulfilled, or manually based on your business needs.
