Setting Up Instagram Shopping with Shopify
Want to add product insights directly into your Instagram posts and stories? Instagram Shopping allows you to turn your feed into a storefront. Here’s how to activate it seamlessly using Shopify.
Step 1: Prepare Your Accounts
- Business Account: Ensure your Instagram account is set up as a business account.
- Facebook Business Manager: Connect your Instagram account to your Facebook Business Manager.
Step 2: Configure Shopify
- Log into Shopify: Access your Shopify admin dashboard.
- Sales Channel: Navigate to the “Sales Channels” section.
- Add Sales Channel:
- Search for “Facebook and Instagram by Meta.”
- Click “Add” to install the channel.
- Setup: Follow the prompts to connect your:
- Facebook Business Page
- Instagram Account
- Facebook Commerce Store
- Sync Product Catalog: Ensure your Shopify product catalog is synced. This should occur automatically.
Step 3: Finalize Setup on Instagram
- Open Instagram App: Launch the Instagram app on your device.
- Access Settings: Navigate to Settings > Business > Shopping.
- Link Product Catalog: Select the product catalog linked to your Shopify store.
- Submit for Review: Submit it for review. Keep in mind that this process can take a few hours to a few days.
Step 4: Start Tagging Products
Once approved, you can tag products within your posts, reels, and stories. This feature makes it easy for followers to shop directly from your content.
